  • Lee James
    Colorado State Campus Director

    Lee James is now serving as the Colorado State Campus Director out of Colorado Springs. He is a seasoned ordained minister with a Division I sports background who is answering the call of the Lord to get this next generation of sports ministry leadership off the bench and into the game. A North Carolina native, Lee lettered in three sports in high school, before continuing his baseball career in college. He holds a BS degree in industrial education and technology with a minor in graphic arts from Appalachian State University. Prior to joining the Colorado FCA family, Lee served as a youth & associate pastor for 18 years in two different churches. Lee brings to the Institute many valuable experiences of both Sports and Ministry.

    Julie James is the discipleship leader for CSMI’s female staff/students/wives with her heart to see females empowered to be all that God intended in his ultimate design. Julie brings a spiritual power and grounding to the CSMI ministry that keeps the staff and students focused on God’s play book. Julie mentors young families and women to enable them to grow in obedience to the Lord and to embrace the destiny He places before them.

    Lee and his wife, Julie, have three sons: Anthony, Andrew and Austin.

  • Ryan Carter
    3rd Year Staff

    Ryan Carter was born on 29 Aug, 1981 in the small town of Waterloo, WI. He attended Edgewood High School in Madison, WI. In June of 2000, Ryan started his college and military career at the United States Air Force Academy. As a defensive end for the Fighting Falcons, Ryan was a two-time Academic All-American and earned Honorable Mention All-Conference Honors. As a senior he was elected to be the football team captain and the president of the Academy's FCA chapter. As a cadet, Ryan was on the Superintendent's list all 8 semesters for military, academic, and athletic excellence. He was a distinguished graduate with a major in Astronautical Engineering, and received his commission as a 2nd Lt in the United States Air Force in December of 2004. Ryan now serves as the FCA Director in Colorado Springs, CO. He and his wife Valerie are proud parents of their 1.5 year old son, Ethan, and they are expecting another son in March of 2010.

  • Kevin Mark
    3rd Year Staff

    Kevin Mark was Born on June 10, 1983 in Nairobi, Kenya. He attended Junior High and High School in Coral Springs, Florida and attended Colorado State University on a football Scholarship in 2001. Kevin was a 3 time letter winning kicker at CSU, and led the nation in touchbacks in 2003 and 2005. He graduated from CSU in 2005 with a double major in History and Liberal Arts. Kevin now serves as the Colorado FCA Area Representative in Fort Collins, Colorado where he resides with his wife, Karlie.

  • Andrew Powell
    2nd Year Staff

    Andrew Powell is a Distinguished Military Graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a heart for God and athletics. He played football, held various leadership positions, and was actively involved with FCA at the Academy for 3 years. Andrew also has a heart for music and is Christian Hip Hop artist. While in high school he and his colleague pioneered one of Southwest Florida's first Christian Hip Hop radio shows which aired for 10 years. Andrew joined FCA as intern 2007 and is now serving full time as a Colorado Springs Area Representative. Andrew and his bride, Samantha spend their free time working out spiritually as well as physically. They have a daughter, Alana and live in Colorado Springs and attend Church for All Nations.

  • Stacy Schmidt
    2nd Year Staff

    Stacy Schmidt was born on February 11, 1985 in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois. She attended Junior High and High School in Storm Lake, Iowa. In 2003, Stacy enrolled at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. She was on the Dean's List for her academics all 8 semesters of college. Stacy was a track athlete, learning the triple jump her sophomore year of college, qualifying for the conference meet in this event both her junior and senior years, and placing at conference her senior year. She graduated from Doane in 2007 with a major in Physical Education/Sports Management. Stacy is currently the Denver Metro Area Representative for Colorado FCA, discipling high school students in Douglas and Jefferson Counties, as well as at Metro State College of Denver. She also runs a Speed, Strength Training, and Conditioning program called Colorado Elite Speed.

  • David Farmer

    David’s last name truly speaks for who he really is. David was born on a farm with cows and chickens as his best friends. Actually, David is a native of Colorado, raised primarily on the Front Range. David loves the many things about Colorado: Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Rockies. (Sports Nut). David dislikes these things about Colorado: Wind, winter, and no large masses of water.

    David joins Fellowship of Christian Athletes with a passion for teaching God’s word and equipping student athletes with a desire to live for the Kingdom of God. In addition, David is very zealous when it comes to sports. His back ground in sports in includes, playing career, coaching, and academic studies at variety of levels.

    Before joining FCA, David was certified and licensed Physical Education teacher. His professional experience includes four years of teaching at two different elementary schools located in the Colorado Springs region.

    During the summer of 2008, while in a graduate internship program at The University of Northern Colorado, God commissioned David into full time Sports Ministry with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As part of the process, the Lord told him to resign from teaching to begin a life of building kingdom-minded leaders ranging from athletes and coaches in local high schools.

    David is eager and full of enthusiasm as he strategically targets the South Denver Area.

  • Eric Dykstra
    1st Year Staff

    Eric Dykstra was born September 4, 1983 and grew up in the small town of Fulton, Illinois. He attended Fulton High School, where he was a three sport athlete playing baseball, basketball, and football. He attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa playing baseball for a year. After graduating from Northwestern College in 2006, Eric served as a youth pastor at a small church in Kings, Illinois for two year before moving out to Colorado in June of 2008. His intentions were to come out to Denver Seminary and get a masters degree in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care, however God had different plans. Eric began going through the training program as an intern for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is now serving as an area Representative for Jefferson County full time! Eric and his wife Michelle live in Littleton, Colorado and are enjoying the addition of their new daughter Kamryn Grace, who was born September 7, 2009.

  • JB Hall

    Joe B. Hall (J.B.) was born in Dallas, Texas, but has lived his entire life right here in beautiful, Boulder, Colorado. He is an Associate Minister at Second Baptist Church, in Boulder, Colorado. Not only is he an Associate Minister at Second Baptist, he grew up in that church, which just celebrated their 100 years.

    He has played football since a very young age, playing for his high school and two seasons of Semi-Pro League. He has been coaching for over 25 years. With a couple of players playing at the next level including: college level and professionally. He has had the privilege of coaching both his son and daughter in their sports. His passion for sports and his desire to empower, educate, mentor, guide, instill Godly Kingdom values, integrity and morales into the lives of young adults and athletes have enabled him to build great relationships throughout his sphere of influence.

    He and his wife, Diana were high school sweethearts and have been married for 20 years. Diana is very active in the youth ministries at Second Baptist Church and dedicated to serving the Lord as well has her family. They have two children, Joe Bernard Hall Jr. (JB) is in his second year of college playing football on a scholarship and his sister, Brianna follows close behind him and is too a great athlete in both basketball and track. Both children love the Lord and serve him on and off the field/court.
